Information brochure on quality evaluation and consumer education |
|
This resource pack starts with introducing you to the subject of “people with intellectual disability as consumers of support services”. This is the title of a European project supported by the European Commission.
Booklet “I know what I want, I buy what I want”
This
booklet is available in 11 European languages. In this resource pack you will
find one booklet in your own language. There is also a copy of the booklet on
the CD-ROM so you can print as many as you need.
The trainers’ manual is designed to help you as a trainer, support worker, parent or self-advocate when talking about people with intellectual disability as consumers of support services.
This
manual introduces you to the steps and principles of being a consumer and uses
examples from other material in this Resource Pack.
The
trainer’s manual is available in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish,
Portuguese, Greek, Finnish and Swedish. You will also find it on the CD-ROM for
further dissemination.
Presentations (overheads or PowerPoint)
You
will find three different presentations in the resource pack. These
presentations can be used when you are in a training situation with persons with
intellectual disability. The presentations are available in German, English,
French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Finnish and Swedish.
They
are included as black and white copies on paper in this resource pack. You can
copy them on overhead slides. If you want to print them in colour or do a
PowerPoint presentation, you can find the necessary files on the CD-ROM.
Website
On
the CD-ROM and at www.inclusion-europe.org/consumers
you will find a website that is easily accessible for persons with intellectual
disability. It can be used as a practical tool helping them to find out the
questions to ask when looking for a living facility, leisure activity or work.
Thus it helps them to make informed choices.
The
website on the Internet generates a list of questions which the consumers may
ask to a service provider. This function is unfortunately not available on the
CD-ROM. These questions are the outcome of the steps and choices made on the
website and they reflect the person’s wishes and choices. This website is
presently available in English, French, German and Dutch.
Information brochure on quality evaluation and consumer education
In
this brochure you will find examples of good consumer information and consumer
education as well as examples of systems for quality evaluation of support
services. This publication is available only in English and
French.
