Cedar Foundation, Bulgaria

The Cedar Foundation, a Bulgarian nonprofit organization, has worked to protect the rights of children and people with disabilities since its inception in 2005. The organization has rare and valuable experience in the closure of a large institution for children with intellectual disabilities and development of high-quality small group home services.  Fundación Sindrome de Down, Madrid, Spain

Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid is a non-profit organization, whose mission is twofold:  the achievement of individual autonomy of persons with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities, and their full social inclusion. Established 25 years ago, Down Madrid has more than 2,500 locations, engaging over 200 professionals and 300 volunteers, all working in 57 programs and 29 services with the collaboration of more than 300 corporations.
